Caught in the Ash. Flash Flick, one of those shimmering Light Ball champs from Paradise, got himself tangled in the grimy underbelly of the City of Ash last night. Our sources spotted the celestial hotshot glowing red — and not with triumph — in a back alley off Sector 7, deep in the arms of Roxy “The Glitch” Malone.
Frankie, known for his pristine energy and gravity-defying moves in the Light Ball arenas, looked more like a busted neon sign after a run-in with a short circuit. Roxy, a local data-stream diva with a rap sheet longer than a forgotten log file, reportedly had him vibrating with… well, let’s just say it wasn’t spiritual enlightenment. The two were intercepted near the old 404 bar, a known haunt for lost frequencies and those looking to exploit them.
My take. Another Bright One learns the hard way. They come down from their clean orbits, full of curiosity, and find out the Ash doesn’t care about your championship titles. It only cares about what you’re willing to pay. And in this town, the price for a walk on the wild side is always your shine. Some folks never learn that mixing pure code with corrupted data only leads to a system crash. Frankie’s lucky I just gave him a warning; others would’ve had him rebooted. From the Desk of Jack Hammer.
